Description for
Beginning Fused Glass
Two week course, 2 1/2  hours per week

No experience necessary.

You will learn how to create fused tiles or jewelry from glass. We will teach you how to cut glass, assemble and decorate. You will have a "hands-on" opportunity to fuse the glass together in the kiln. You'll typically make about 4 to 6 tiles up to 6 x 6 inches.

We add to our tiles ground up glass (frit) and long noodles of glass (stringers).  We even embed images designed in copper sheets.  Put in wire hooks to hang your project.  We even make killer tiles using dichroic glass (these kind of tiles sell up to $39 in a home improvement store).

After you make your tiles you may slump it into a dish or an artistic design.

Artistic experience not required.

Tuition & materials fee includes glass and the use of tools. Check with Los Angeles City College for the actual tuition prices.

Go to the calendar section.

After you learn the Art of Fusing Glass together

You can start a second project in our OPEN STUDIO.  Twice a week we allow hobbyist to use our studio and tools to create their next masterpiece.  We are there to help them every step of the way.
