No Artistic Ability Required.

No experience required.

Introduction to Glass Beads

This hands-on class will start you working with hot glass. Using a torch and glass rods, you'll learn how to lay different colors of glass on top of each other to make beads that are magnificent in color and depth. Use the beads in jewelry, hang from a lamp shades or put them into your stained glass window.

You will learn how to lay multiple glass colors together to make a beautiful, unique bead.  In this one-day  class you will make about 8 - 12 beads.

Tuition & materials fee includes glass, gas and the use of tools. Check with Los Angeles City College  for actual tuition prices.
What you'll learn:

1. Safety first

2. Mandrel preparation.

3. Different types of glass and their uses.

4. Make a simple bead.

5. Adding different colors.

6. Using tools like graphite paddles and pliers.

You'll complete and go home with 8 to 12 beautiful glass beads.
